Resetting Token Numbers
Tokens are only available to staff and workstudy users with Accounts Management admin privileges, and workstudy students only have access to get tokens for other students.
Sign in on the Accounts Management page: accounts.adams.edu
Go to Admin > Search on the green bar.
It is easiest to find someone with their ID#. If they don't know their ID#, the second best way is by searching for their username. The only other method to find someone is by searching for their first or last name, it can only be one at once though.
If you still can't find them, it's possible you misheard how they spelled their name, but most likely they have not been admitted yet. Students who have applied must have their application accepted before an account is generated. They might also think they already have an account, but they could be referring to the account they created for the Admissions application. The online application has them create an account that is only used for this application. If a student is unable to access their Admissions application account, contact Maxine Rodriguez x7712 and she can help them.
When you have found someone, click on their blue student ID#.
You must request verification info such as their birth date, major, and the last 4 digits of their SSN. They should have already told you their name and ID# (if they know it), so those also count as verification info. This is for security reasons and to make sure you have found the correct account.
In the top right you should see "Reset token". Clicking that will give you a token.
Resetting a token means the token expires after 8 hours.
When students receive their email to activate their account, the token provided will remain active until they use it to activate their account. If a token was recently reset and hasn't expired, that is the only token that will work.
Tokens can be used to activate accounts and reset passwords.
