Note: If you are NOT a guest please make sure that you are not connecting to the GrizzNet Guest wi-fi.
Guest are defined as individuals staying for a week or less without ASU credentials.
GrizNet does NOT support Smart devices: these devices are discoverable by all devices on GrizNet network, attempt to communicate to all devices on the network, which usually results in much slower network for all users.
Instructions to Connect to GrizNet Network
Here is the process to connect to the GrizNet Network:
Look for available networks on your device, locate GrizNet and then connect to it.
We recommend selecting “Connect automatically” for future convenience.
Enter your ASU username (everything before the @adams.edu portion of your email) and password. Then review and agree to the IT Acceptable Use Policy by checking the “I agree to the Acceptable Use Policy” box before finally clicking the “Connect!: button to join the network
You will receive the following success message if you have been granted access to the network! You may then close that window to continue using your device.
WARNING:
Do not connect to the GrizzNet Guest wi-fi ever as a student. Only connect to the GrizNet wifi. If you do try to connect to both networks this is what happens:
When a device connects to both wifis, it will automatically switch to whichever signal is stronger at that moment. This means one connection may work for an arbitrary amount of time and when someone walks between them and the access point, it may switch to the other network interrupting their connection at that time. Switching networks makes whatever network your device is trying to use really slow.
The guest wifi has bandwidth limiters to give our own GrizNet wifi priority. This means if users are trying to use guest wifi, they WILL experience slower download rates.
Our network is designed to block devices connecting to the guest wifi that have already logged into the GrizNet wifi before. This means if students have been connected to the GrizNet wifi, and the device switches over to the guest wifi, they won't receive any connections until they switch back to ASU wifi.
If you are having issues with wi-fi connections and you are connected to both the GrizNet wifi and the Guestwifi please go and "forget network" for the Guestwifi in your settings.
Forget Network Instruction:
Select the Start menu in the taskbar
Open Settings
Select Network & internet from the left menu
Select WiFi
Select Manage known networks
Click Forget next to the network you want to remove
