Before reimaging, be sure to carefully backup all of the users documents. You will also need to identify what specialized programs are installed, such as Dreamweaver or Adobe professional. If there are specialized programs installed, be sure to release the license keys and back them up individually.

  1. Create a folder with the user's name the UDIUSMT share
  2. Create a separate folder for each item you back up. (My Docs, favorites, desktop, etc.)
  3. You may want to copy the entire user profile, based on the size and type of data stored. However, be more granular on what information is restored.
  1. For Windows 7
      1. C:\Users\username\Desktop
    1. My Documents
      1. C:\Users\username\My Documents
    2. My Music

    3. My Pictures

    5. Favorites (IE)

    6. NOTE: Most applications store preferences in the C:\Users\username\AppData folder. You may want to back up additional AppData folders based on the applications they use (Pidgin or Filezilla, for example)
    7. Mozilla Firefox
      1. C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\profiles\(contents of .default folder)
      2. Location of specific files, such as if you wanted to move only the bookmarks file https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data
    8. Mozilla Thunderbird
      1. C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\profiles\(contents of .default folder)

    9. Google Chrome
      1. Chrome (as well as drive) preferences are stored in C:\Users\username\Appdata\Local\Google
